Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
Humans depend on the earth as much as the ocean for sustenance and livelihoods. Preserving life on land requires targeted efforts to protect, restore, and promote the conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial and other ecosystems. 30% of the world is covered by forests, which provide vital habitats for millions of species and are important...

We need to ensure the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems and their services -- in particular forests, wetlands, mountains and drylands -- in line with obligations under international agreements. Additionally, combating desertification, restoring degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and striving to achieve a land degradation-neutral world will help sustain life on land. In terms of animals, we need to take urgent action to end poaching and trafficking of protected species of flora and fauna, and address both the demand and supply of illegal wildlife products.
The Center for Biological Diversity believes that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature - to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law, and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters, and climate that species need to survive. The Center has six program areas: Biodiversity, Climate, International, Oceans, Wildlands, and Urban Wildlands. The Center looks forward to a future of continued expansion, creativity, and no-holds-barred action on behalf of the world's most critically endangered animals and plants.
The American Forest Foundation works on-the-ground with families, teachers, and elected officials to promote stewardship and protect our nation's forest heritage. AFF is committed to creating a future where North American forests are sustained by the public that understands and values the social, economic, and environmental benefits they provide to our communities, our nation, and the world.
Founded in 1999, the Amazon Conservation Association (ACA) works to conserve the biological diversity of the Amazon. We work to protect biodiversity by studying ecosystems and developing innovative conservation tools to protect land in the region while supporting the livelihoods of local communities. We work by forging ties with governments, nonprofits and people who depend on the rainforests for their livelihood, with the goal of saving rare species and habitats and learning from the land. Scientific research guides our approach, which strives for concrete, measurable achievements.
WildAid's mission is to end the illegal wildlife trade in our lifetimes. WildAid works to reduce the demand for illegal wildlife products, and to promote energy conservation, via global public awareness campaigns. WildAid also strives to create model field conservation programs and to strengthen marine protected areas around the world.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The 17 SDGs are interconnected and integrated, and reaching these goals requires balancing...
