Hurricane Laura, classified as a Category 4 Hurricane, made landfall in Louisiana in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 27. With wind speeds of up to 150 mph, the storm has already resulted in widespread damage to the region, as well as dangerous flash floods, power outages, and the potential for tornadoes in the surrounding states. The last time there was a storm of this magnitude was more than 100 years ago. Simultaneously, COVID-19 cases continue to be on the rise in Texas and Louisiana. On the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Ivan striking the Gulf Coast, the same area finds itself picking up the pieces after Hurricane Sally made landfall as a Category 2 storm at Gulf Shores and Orange Beach at 4:45 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2020. As it slowly crawled to shore, the monster storm gained strength which means that this area of Alabama, and then quickly followed by the panhandle of Florida, endured hours and hours of rain and storm surge. This caused mass flooding and destruction, across a wide stretch of the Gulf Coast. We know that when disaster strikes, a wave of helpers always follow. Because Hurricane Laura was just a few weeks ago, many disaster relief organizations were already down on the Gulf and could transition some or all of their team to be in place to respond to the wrath of Sally. We have established The 2020 Hurricane Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund to support the communities impacted by the storm. This Fund includes pre-vetted nonprofits providing emergency response in the region. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. We have initially selected organizations that are working to provide immediate relief; the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about the needs on the ground.

CLOSED - 2022 Disaster Relief - Hurricane Fiona (Caribbean and Canada) Fund
Hurricane Fiona made landfall on the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico on Sunday 9/18, with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph and rainfall totals exceeding 30" in many areas. The storm caused an island-wide power outage leaving more than 1 million customers in the dark; over 830K were without running water. Floods and landslides have caused catastrophic damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. Fiona then devastated the Dominican Republic with heavy rainfall and life-threatening flash flooding, and went on to make landfall in Canada on the morning of September 24 causing widespread flooding, travel disruptions, and damage to homes, buildings and infrastructure, with hundreds of thousands of people experiencing power outages. At least 19 people have died, including at least 16 in Puerto Rico. Cisco Foundation has launched a $50K Hurricane Fiona disaster campaign to support the efforts of Americares and World Central Kitchen. Donations will be matched up to $10,000 per employee. Campaign donations will not be counted toward employees' annual $25,000 match limit. Note on Tax Deductibility: This fund includes U.S.- based organizations. U.S. employees who make a credit card donation will receive a receipt for tax deductibility for the portion of the donation contributed to these organizations. Employees outside the U.S. will not be able to receive a receipt for tax deductibility for credit card donations to organizations in this fund.

Hurricane Helene Relief Fund
Hurricane Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida on the evening of September 26, 2024 as a powerful category 4 hurricane, resulting in life-threatening storm surges, heavy rainfall and up to 140 MPH winds. Homes, businesses, and infrastructure are facing catastrophic damage and over 1 million homes in Florida faced power outages, with another 2 million experiencing outages across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and southern Virginia. Severe flooding has permeated Florida's northwestern coast, with the storm moving inland and ravaging multiple western North Carolina communities. Asheville, NC became virtually inaccessible due to flooding and storm damage, and the village of Chimney Rock has been destroyed, along with several others. The storm also made a devastating impact across multiple Eastern Tennessee communities, leaving significant damage and destruction in its wake. Communities in Georgia, South Carolina, and southern Virginia are also experiencing impacts due to severe flooding. More than 200 storm-related deaths have been reported, with many others still missing. Relief efforts are underway, and the following nonprofits are providing critical resources in the form of emergency shelter, food, water, medical treatment, and supplies to those impacted. Your donation to this Fund will help support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts. Please note the organizations included in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about needs on the ground.
