About
Disaster relief efforts are underway in the aftermath of a massive explosion that rocked Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday, August 4. The blast killed more than 157 people, injured over 5,000 and displaced hundreds of thousands from their homes. It is estimated that 300,000 people will be homeless or displaced as a result of the explosion.
Lebanon has already been heavily impacted by COVID-19, as well as an economic crisis that has forced tens of thousands into poverty; this latest disaster only exacerbates those prior struggles.
