American Friends of Magen David Adom
MDA is Israel's national emergency response, blood services, and disaster relief organization. It is not a government agency, though it is the only organization appointed by the Government to serve in this role. MDA's 30,000 paramedics and EMTs, and volunteers are always there for all Israelis. They respond to typical emergencies and incidences of greater magnitude with 2,000 vehicles on call around the clock, based at 198 EMS stations nationwide. MDA Blood Service collects and processes 97% of the blood supply distributed to Israeli hospitals and the entirety needed by the Israel Defense Forces. Emergency preparedness training equips them to respond to mass casualty events and provide humanitarian aid at home and abroad. American Friends of MDA raises funds to support this vital work.
Friends Of United Hatzalah Inc
Our mission is to support the lifesaving activities of United Hatzalah and Israelife, Israel's volunteer emergency response umbrella organization. United Hatzalah is the largest independent, non-profit, nationally recognized and fully-volunteer emergency medical services (EMS) organization in Israel. United Hatzalah's cadre of 6,200 medics, paramedics, and doctors create a web of emergency first responders, each connected to a proprietary GPS-based dispatch system which, together with our nimble motorcycle ambulances ("ambucycles"), provides lifesaving aid faster than any other EMS organization in the world, absolutely free of charge, 24/7. In Israel last year, United Hatzalah's highly qualified volunteers treated over 675,000 people. For more information, visit www.israelrescue.org.
