American National Red Cross
The American Red Cross is preparing across Alabama, Florida and Georgia in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Michael. Some of the preparations include opening evacuation centers, movement of relief supplies and activation of response headquarters to prepare and respond to any impacts experienced as a result of the storm. The Red Cross is mobilizing trained volunteers, shelter supplies and other equipment preparing to provide shelter for tens of thousands of people until they can return home.
Feeding Tampa Bay
The devastation from Hurricane Michael has been tremendous and we are rallying our resources to offer as much help as we can. Our disaster relief page has a lot of information regarding our relief efforts. Thus far, we've sent a truck and a driver as well as two truckloads of water, MREs and other food items. We are planning to send four more truckloads today.
We are in constant communication with regional, state and national affiliates to asses the need and make sure we are sending items to areas that are most impacted.
We are activating volunteers to sort and pack food to be sent in another load next week.
